Capri's beaches at a glance

Do not expect a long sandy beach on Capri. The swimming spots are small pebble coves, rock platforms and beach clubs built on the shore. Some are free and some charge an entry fee that includes a lounger or a restaurant credit. The Lido del Faro, for example, is a bathing club on rocks, not a sand beach.

The free areas are at Marina Grande, near the port, and at Marina Piccola, on both sides of the Scoglio delle Sirene rock. Punta Carena and Gradola are rock bathing spots. The clubs near the Faraglioni and Palazzo a Mare sell day passes and packages. Prices below come from the clubs or from travel portals and apply in 2026.

Free swimming: Marina Grande and Marina Piccola

Pebbles and rocks, not sand.

Marina Grande is where the ferries arrive, and its free beach areas lie close to the port. At Marina Piccola the free pebble areas lie on both sides of the Scoglio delle Sirene rock.

From Capri town you reach Marina Piccola by bus or taxi, or on foot via Via Mulo. Wear shoes that suit pebbles and rocks.

Do not assume that you may swim everywhere. The club advertisements do not give a general permission to swim at the entrance of the grottoes or in the harbor fairway. Obey signs and local instructions.

Beach clubs: what you pay for

Clubs sell entry, loungers and food as separate or combined offers, so compare like with like.

Bagni Tiberio

Adults pay €20 for entry with a cabin, locker, showers and toilets. A lounger costs €20 extra, a deck chair €15, an umbrella €12, a towel €10 and a warm shower €2. A child price of €10 is listed. A boat from Marina Grande is free for customers, with a shuttle from 9:30 to 18:00. The club is open from 9:00 to 18:00. Reserved loungers must be taken by noon. Outside food and dogs are not allowed.

The season is listed as daily from 19 April to 30 September, with a note that the beach club closes on 15 September and no year given. Confirm the end of the season before you plan a late visit.

Lido del Faro

The club in Anacapri has rock platforms, sea access and a pool, and also runs a restaurant. A travel portal lists about €100 per person with a lounger and restaurant credit. Booking ahead is recommended. A bare beach spot with no further service cannot be reserved, and an email confirmation is needed. Loungers are assigned. Cancel at least 24 hours ahead.

Da Luigi ai Faraglioni

The club is open from 9:00 to 18:30. The restaurant runs from 12:00 to 17:00 and the snack bar from 12:00 to 18:00. From the Piazzetta it is about a 30-minute walk. A boat leaves Marina Piccola from 10:00 until closing for €10 per person each way, with no reservation there. Transfers from Marina Grande need booking, with contact the day before. A portal lists €115 for a lounger plus restaurant credit. That is not an entry fee alone.

The Faraglioni →

La Fontelina

Portal texts give a minimum spend of €190 and €200 per person for the lido plus restaurant in June to September. A restaurant visit without the lido is listed with no minimum, and the boat costs extra. Treat these as guide figures and ask the club for the exact terms.

Seasons and closures

Most clubs are seasonal. A booking portal lists the La Fontelina restaurant as closed from 12 October 2026 to 17 April 2027, and the Da Luigi restaurant from 12 October 2026 to 25 April 2027. That does not mean the whole coast is closed. It means you should not plan around club service in the cold months.

Boat tours also follow the season, and island cruise offers for 2026 run from 1 April to 31 October. Ask about swimming when you book, because a stop is not a general permission to swim.
