The Faraglioni

The Faraglioni are three rock stacks off Capri's southeast coast. You can see them from viewpoints, from a boat or from a beach club on the shore opposite, and this page explains each option with 2026 prices.

The three rocks

The Faraglioni lie southeast of Capri. The municipality names three: Faraglione di Terra, Faraglione di Mezzo and Faraglione di Fuori. Common alternative names are Stella for the first and Scopolo for the last. The middle rock has the arch. Behind them stands a smaller rock, the Scoglio del Monacone.

The beach clubs sit on the island's shore opposite the rocks, not on the rocks themselves. The descent to them starts at the Belvedere di Tragara. If you only want to look, two viewpoints do the job: Punta Tragara and the Gardens of Augustus.

Viewing, boating and beach clubs

What to expect at each.

From the viewpoints

Punta Tragara and the Gardens of Augustus both look toward the rocks. The Belvedere di Tragara is also where the path down to the clubs begins. For gardens access and the status of Via Krupp, see the dedicated page.

On a boat

A regular island tour from Marina Grande starts at €25 per person in 2026, runs April 1 to October 31 and takes about 1 hour 15 minutes without a Blue Grotto stop. With the stop it takes about 2 hours, and the Grotto entry is not included. Children up to 5 ride free on that offer, and it has no swim stop.

Private boats are priced per boat. A 2-hour trip with a skipper and one swim stop starts at €250 per boat for up to 9 guests, or at €237.25 for up to 6 on another offer. Both list the Faraglioni and exclude the Blue Grotto. The second offer excludes guests over 100 kg and people with reduced mobility. These are single offers, not island-wide prices.

Swimming

You swim from the shore, at the clubs or at rocky access points. There is no confirmed swimming route between the rocks, and a swim stop on a boat does not mean the spot is cleared for swimming. Follow local signs and the staff at the club.

Da Luigi

The bathing club opens 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. The restaurant serves 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. and the snack bar 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. Walking from the Piazzetta takes about 30 minutes. Boats leave Marina Piccola from 10 a.m. until closing for €10 per person and direction, with no reservation needed there. Transfers from Marina Grande must be booked, with contact the day before. A booking portal lists €115 per person for a lounger plus restaurant credit in 2026. That is not a plain entry fee.

La Fontelina

A booking portal lists a minimum spend of €190 to €200 per person for the lido plus restaurant in June to September 2026, with the boat extra. The two portal pages disagree, so ask the club before you plan around either figure.

Season

A booking portal shows La Fontelina's restaurant closed from October 12, 2026 to April 17, 2027 and Da Luigi's from October 12, 2026 to April 25, 2027. Do not read that as a closure of every bathing spot on the island.

Walking to the Faraglioni

The CAI trail 395 starts at the turn-off from Via Tamborio. It passes the Arco Naturale, the Grotta Matermania and Pizzolungo, runs on past Punta Tragara and returns toward the Certosa and the Piazzetta. The trail is rated E, which means walking on ordinary paths, and it is slippery when it rains. A booking portal describes steep stairs on Pizzolungo.

The times differ by source. The CAI gives about 3 hours for its route, while a portal lists about 1 hour 30 minutes for its own walk. Allow the longer figure if you have children or want to stop. The Piazzetta is the usual start, and the walk to Da Luigi takes about 30 minutes from there.

Faraglioni: frequently asked questions

Where are the Faraglioni?

They stand off the southeast coast of Capri. Punta Tragara and the Belvedere di Tragara are the usual viewpoints.

Can you swim at the Faraglioni?

You can swim from the shore opposite, usually at a beach club. No safe route between the rocks is confirmed, so do not plan on swimming through the arch.

Does every boat go through the arch?

No. Passing under the arch is not guaranteed on every tour, so ask the operator before you book if it matters to you.

How much does a day at Da Luigi or La Fontelina cost?

Prices depend on the date and what you add. A booking portal lists €115 per person for a lounger plus restaurant credit at Da Luigi, and a minimum spend of €190 to €200 at La Fontelina. Ask the club for the current figure.

Where can I see the rocks without going to a club?

Punta Tragara is a viewpoint on the way to the clubs, and the Gardens of Augustus look toward them as well. The gardens charge a regular €2.50 in 2026.
